Curatorial Work

2004-05 – Artistic Directors of CASA HOFFMANN, a Center for Movement Studies, Curitiba, Brazil
This influential space devoted to the exploration of new languages and aesthetics in movement opened in June 2003 and brings international teachers, scholars, thinkers and curators of movement and dance to engage with the local artists and arts community. Among the artists brought last year were Vera Mantero, La Ribot, Andre Lepecki, Xavier le Roy, Thomas Plischke, Sarah Mitchelson, Tere O’Connor, John Jasperse, Deborah Hay, and David Zambrano.

2004 – ChameckiLerner organized bi-weekly meetings for a group study led by acclaimed academic/dance critic and NYU Assistant Professor in Performance Studies, Andre Lepecki. A group of 15 NY-based dancers, choreographers, critics, presenters, managers and scholars participated in the sessions, discussing theoretical texts and encouraging a bridge between the disconnected worlds of academia and dance.

2004 – ChameckiLerner established a weekly Choreographic Think Tank/Exploration Group in NYC in partnership with dancer/choreographer Jeremy Wade. The group’s purpose is to identify and expand the  perception of our artistic identities.
