FLYING LESSON, chameckilerner’s first video work was a response to their previous piece EXIT, premiered at The Kitchen in 2007. EXIT was an artistic suicide of the duo known as chameckilerner, an investigation into the possibilities of extinction and reinvention. This artistic crisis and their need to reinvent themselves brought them to the piece FLYING LESSON, an exercise on “dreaming”.

As they wanted to make sure dreaming was still possible, they set themselves to an impossible task…to FLY. As long time dreamers Chamecki and Lerner knew that “even dreaming demands practice”. In this short, you can see the poetic humor and naiveté that permeates their work.
